Description Size is approximately 13 to 13.5 “ long. White Eyed conure have a very vibrant and bright green
color. There are a few red feathers on the head and neck area. The
green on the front of the bird, stomach and chest, is a little lighter
than the rest of the body. White Eyed Conure are very often confused with conures like the Hispaniolan Conure, (even though the White Eyed Conure is somewhat larger) or the Green Conure. They all look very much alike. |
Natural RangeAaratinga l. leucophthalma : French Guiana,
Guyana, Surinam, eastern Colombia, eastern Venezuela, most of Brazil,
Bolivia, Paraguay, northeast Uruguay and northern Argentina. In the wild they often live in larger colonies up to 100 birds. |
| Status They had never been imported in large numbers and there
are not to many breeder in the USA raising them. |
Personality Even the babies can get spooked easy during handfeeding, but are very tame and sociable once they are weaned. They love to bathe and can entertain themselves with toys. |
Breeding Clutches are three to four eggs, most the time captive
pairs will produce double clutches. |
